What in the F*** Is the Bitcoin Halving?

With the Bitcoin halving roughly one week away, I am sure many of my readers who don't follow crypto very closely are seeing more mentions about Bitcoin in their feeds. You may be wondering "what in the f***k is this Bitcoin thing people keep talking about?"

Well, I'm here to make it simple for you.

The Bitcoin halving happens roughly every four years, and it essentially means that the rate of incoming new Bitcoins created by miners gets reduced by 50%.

Miners currently are compensated with 12.5 new Bitcoins per block mined, which occurs roughly every 10 minutes. After the halving, the miner reward will be cut down to 6.25 Bitcoins.

The halvings were embedded into the foundational code of Bitcoin by its creator, Satoshi Nakamoto.

If demand stays constant, theoretically the price of Bitcoin should rise after the halving.

Skeptics believe that halvings have no effect on the Bitcoin price, and are already reflected in Bitcoin's current price.

I know one thing for certain, I am trying to accumulate as much Bitcoin as I can possibly get my hands on.
